In the recent years the Institute has been actively developing radiation technologies, to include:
- sterilization of medical devices and pharmaceuticals by means of electron and gamma-ray beams;
- modification of miscellaneous polymer materials with a purpose of conferring new properties and physicochemical characteristics hereto;
- foodstuff treatment for microbial content eduction.
A technology has been developed jointly with PC “Belmedpreparaty” for manufacturing medical products: hydrogel materials to be used as a new dressing material for burns, wounds, transplanted skin tissues, ulcers and bedsores treatment.
